Sweeping Vistas - Pebbles and Sand - Sea and Sky

Budleigh Salterton: Shallow River Otter delta outlet runs over beach at low tide. Very fast and extremely cold fresh water.

Porlock: Exmoor Forest headland meets beach of grey and pink stones. Young geology as they are not rounded into pebbles. Valerian, Toadflax and Buddleia plants harmonised in beach stones.

Lympstone Village: Time stands still. Washing dries on beach posts at low tide. Houses walls sit in the water at high tide. An umbrella pine gives illusion of Mediteranean location; actually Devon, UK.

Porthleven Beach: Long bay of sparkling sand in January 2011.

Swanpool Beach: Ripple waves across low tide sand.

[Note: add Porlock Groynes in wide sweep of bay.  Thorpness Sea Kale and Valerian in pebbles]
