Sweeping Vistas - Pebbles and Sand - Sea and Sky

Budleigh Salterton:  Shallow River Otter delta outlet runs over beach at low tide. Very fast and extremely cold fresh water.

Porlock:  Exmoor Forest headland meets beach of grey and pink stones. Young geology as they are not rounded into pebbles. Valerian, Toadflax and Buddleia plants harmonised in beach stones.

Lympstone Village:  Time stands still. Washing dries on beach posts at low tide. Houses walls sit in the water at high tide. An umbrella pine gives illusion of Mediterranean location; actually Devon, UK.

Orcombe Point, Jurassic coast: Sand at low tide with exposed rocks in green seaweed. Sea mist merged at waters edge.

Porthleven Beach:  Long bay of sparkling sand in January 2011.

Swanpool Beach:  Ripple waves across low tide sand.

Dawlish Warren: Sand and dune spit, footprints.  Beach groynes old and new to slow long shore drift.
