Butterfly Wing Designs - Butterfly Sanctuary

Butterflies emerge from pupae at Buckfastleigh Butterfly and Otter Sanctuary. (butterfly video 00:35 secs)  Many chrysalis and dried empty cases are lined up on bamboo sticks.  Other pupae are visible along the bamboo branch with varied cocoon shapes.

Blue Clipper (green and black logo) - parthenos sylvia lilacinus S.E.Asia drying fully outstretched wings.  A lucky moment.

Dark blue and White Large Tree Nymph freshly emerged

Black and red butterfly at centre with folded wings. Shows many different shapes of pupae skin, both incubating and hatched.

Dark Blue Battus philenor (pipevine or blue swallowtail)

Glass covered tropical area has terrapins in the pond.
