Beaches and Riverbank Plants

East Coast:  Nature succeeds in diverse environments.  The long bleak exposed shingle bank at Thorpness, towards Sizewell B power station, supports a vast amount of wild flowers like a man made garden: Sedums, Horned Poppy, Vipers Bugloss, Sea Kale, Valerian, Sea Campion.

South West Coast:  A dense variety of wild plants, flowers and young trees grow just above the high water line, along the River Dart west facing embankment where it is shored up by rocks and stones: Valerian, Hemp Agrimony, Queen Anne's Lace, Dog Rose, Oak, Gorse.

North Somerset:  A pebble beach garden of Buddleia bushes and Valerian nestled amongst the large pebbles.
